The Basilica of Sant’Eustorgio holds the sarcophagus that transported the relics of the Magi to Milan.
SLegend says the cart carrying them stopped at Porta Ticinese due to its immense weight, and a basilica was built on that very spot. The eight pointed star atop the bell tower symbolizes the comet that led the Magi to Jerusalem 12 nights after Jesus’ birth, on the night of Epiphany.

Tradition tells that the Magi brought three symbolic gifts: Gold, representing royalty; Incense, used in rituals for its anti-inflammatory properties; Myrrh, known for its antiseptic and analgesic effects.
Beyond their symbolism, these were also ancient healing remedies. This cocktail unites these three elements into a spiced and aromatic drink.
